All The Power But A Fraction Of The Energy
- LED light
- Full Spectrum
- Optimised For Flowering
- Uses less energy than standard CFL lighting but more powerful
- Two linked LED boards
- Less heat dissipation than standard lighting
- Modular, can be linked together
- Can be used as supplementary lighting
The LUMii Bright LED is a full-spectrum LED light that can be purchased for a value price in comparison to other fixtures of the same nature. As a single unit it is capable of lighting up an area of around 60cm x 60cm. These fixtures can be linked together to provide coverage of a larger growing area if required. Due to the LED lights it runs super cool compared to other lighting. This helps in 2 ways, firstly you are less likely to experience heat-related issues due to heat coming off your lamps and secondly it reduces the need for noisy fans and high amounts of airflow which can draw unwanted attention. Here at Gone To Pot we have tested this light out to see if we feel it does give the full spectrum of light and it does exactly what it says it will, delivering required quantities of red and blue lighting. We found it also kept down internodal lengths down, for stockier, bushier plants and a more productive indoor garden with better use of space.
WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT LED GROW LIGHTS
Energy-efficient LED grow lights are the lighting of the future of agriculture. They are not only economic in their use but they produce better plants as well, in comparison to all traditional lighting options. In the texts below you can read how the LED grow lights work, how they affect plant growth and what advantages the LED lights have over the thus far most widely used artifical lighting in agriculture – HPS lamps.
WHAT ARE LEDS AND HOW DO THEY WORK?
LEDs (Light Emitting Diode) are small electronic components made of two different types of semiconductor material, one having a negative charge, called electrons, and the other having a positive charge, called holes. When voltage is properly applied over an LED, electric current starts to flow through it making electrons and holes start to collide releasing energy in the form of photons, light quanta, in a process called recombination. The first LEDs had relatively low light output and limited selections of colors while modern LEDs have high brightness and come in varieties of colors in visible, infrared and ultraviolet spectral ranges.
Other Lumii Products
Lumii Envirogro T5
Coming in 3 sizes the Lumii Envirogro T5 light gives flexibility and high-quality performance. They are low power, fluorescent light which barely gives off any heat while still giving high lumen output. They are lightweight, easy to use, cheap to run and give an even spread of light. Each light comes with a power cord and suspension cables. It has powder coated pre-galvanised steel housing and has a low profile. The EnviroGro by LUMii T5 System hangs three ways overhead, vertically or horizontally. There is an on/off switch on one end. The EnviroGro by LUMii 4ft (122cm) 8 lamp T5 Light features separate power switches, this allows you to use either the outer 2 lamps alone, the inside 4 lamps alone or ALL 8 lamps together for more control for you!
The Lumii Digita Ballast is a fully electronic ballast and comes with 600w plus boost. Its controlled by a micro-processor and works at a higher frequency (hertz) than the magnetic ballasts meaning that your plants receive more light. Its more energy efficient than a standard magnetic ballast and will give out more lumens to your plants. You can use different size lamps as the ballast dims down to 250w or 400w. It also has a boost setting for each lamp size meaning you can take complete control of the light output. It is one of the most silent running ballasts on the market, with no hum or vibration. It is compact, stays cool and is lightweight at only 3kg, compared with 8kg for a 600w magnetic ballast. The Lumii Digita ballasts have built in safety features that protect the units circuitry if any short is detected. When the ballast detects an abnormal input or output voltage due to an old or damaged lamp, it will not attempt to ignite the bulb.
